CYCLOPS is a mechanical tableau, originally viewed through the exhibition window of Motel Fine Arts on West Broadway at Spring Street in New York.
A two-minute sequence starts with a closed elevator door window and a dial moving upward to six. A blue call light comes on, the dial drops toward one, a light leak below the elevator passes downward. A shutter within the window slides abruptly right and an iris appears moving slowly, then fixes on the wrapped gift in the foreground. The blue light goes off, the shutter closes, and the sequence repeats itself.
